In 2015, a refinery based in South of India contacted Tetrachem with the intention of undertaking its first Chemical Decontamination of their CDU / VDU Phase 2 Units to facilitate Hydrocarbon free equipment and faster handing over of the units for maintenance activities during their shutdown period.
48 hours were allocated to decontaminate 30 pieces of equipment.
Tetrachem was invited to decontaminate a large Naphta Cracker Unit which included the Gasoline Fractionator and Quench Tower System.
The column in this unit contained 4 packing beds with 3 random packing and one structured packing with the maximum height of 3.35 meters. One of the beds contained 15 baffles.
Tetrachem was invited to decontaminate during a large turnaround. The units include the NHT, DCU, SRU and Flare.
This meant decontamination of 52 pieces of equipment in less than 48 hours.
